Hi, regarding bear bags, I own (and love) the ursack (super nylon) but they are not approved for a couple of places on the trail (sierras/yosemite) , and as such you could face up to a $5000 fine.  I will purchase the bearikade expedition ($275 + tax + shipping (in CA)) for my upcoming and future hikes.  Yes expensive, but the most light weight option and bears have not broken into them yet.
