thought this thread is essentially dead,  i did want t quickly add:

anything can unbalance the ecosystem,  obviously one less rattlesnake is no big 
deal;  nor is one less fish.

...but fish are able to repopulate their respective areas a lot faster.  that's 
the reason you can readily get fishing licenses and take multiple fish a day 
from the streams,  whereas you cannot legally kill the rattlers in the national 
parks whatsoever.  


i agree in the moderated and responsible hunting of food.  but i stand by the 
original point that it's less efficient than simply leaving your hunting 
supplies at home and carrying some extra turkey jerky and peanut butter.

Actually fish eat mosquitos and other flying insects which im sure would be more 
of a problem if the fish were removed but just like anything else fishing for 
food would only remove a small number and not affect the delicate balance just 
like someone killing a snake for dinner would have the same effect.  Everything 
in moderation now of course if we just went around killing everything yes the 
delicate balance would be affected.
