[pct-l] Another Camera question

I've got a Cannon G12 and when I purchased memory cards for it I got a couple of 
cards that are micro adapters. The actual card is the same size as what my phone 
takes. I have tested it out by replacing my phones current SD card with the one 
from my camera and then uploaded the pictures to my blog. It worked very well. I 
have not yet tested a cable between my phone and my camera and I'm not sure I 
will because this system worked so well.

For those of you who are camera/smart phone literate (unlike me!) Is it possible 
to hook a camera (like a Canon powershot) up to a smartphone (via a cable?) and 
send a picture out to someone?
