I got this recipe the other day from Lenny's mom. Lenny hiked the PCT
last year. Lenny's mom made these crackers and brought them to a
gathering the other night. Everybody raved. Here's what I remember:

- Soak a bunch of raw seeds overnight. Sesame, pepitas (green pumpkin
seeds), sunflower, whatever kinds you like. You soak them to get them
to germinate which makes them more digestible.

- Separately soak some raw flax seeds.

- Pour out the water from the seeds. The flax seeds will be all
gelatinous and you probably can't pour much or any water out. That
gelatinous stuff is what makes the crackers stick together. Mix the
flax seeds and the rest of the seeds.

- Add something for flavor. Lenny's mom added "soup mix" whatever
that is. Maybe soy sauce or salt and spices? Whatever sounds good.

- Spread the mixture on a surface that it won't stick to like
parchment paper or maybe foil. It looked like hers was about 1/4 inch
thick.

- Put it in your dehydrator or put it in the oven on the lowest setting.

I don't remember how long it takes to dry, but you can tell it's dry
when it's crispy.

I remember her sending these to Lenny on the trail. I think sometimes
she put dried kale in it. Or maybe I'm just remembering the "kale
chips" she'd send him.
