The ADZ organizers and other volunteers offer rides from the Lake Morena campground every morning from Thursday to Sunday to the border, if you wish to slack pack the 21 miles back to Lake Morena.

Topsy-Turvy and I were planning on starting on the 28th, maybe taking it easy on
the first day and camping, or maybe just doing the whole 20 miles. So we'd
arrive at Lake Moreno on Thursday night (28th) or Friday morning (29th). We
planned this thinking that Kickoff took place on Saturday and Sunday, but I've
realized recently that it really takes place Friday and Saturday. So now we'll
definitely make the effort to be there as early as possible on Friday morning,
if not Thursday night.

It occurs to me that those of you who were considering starting out on the 29th
might have made the same assumption I did at first. So you might want to
consider starting out on the 28th instead. That gets you there by Thursday
night and you can attend Kickoff the whole day on Friday. If anyone does this,
Topsy Turvy and I will be there at the monument on Thursday morning. We're
hoping to stay at Scout and Frodo's the night before and get the usual early
morning ride out to the monument.

Can't wait to take those first steps!

Colin
