Camp shoes. I've never found a satisfactory camp shoe. Something that you can walk a few yards with. Shower shoes are the best I've found and really don't like them much, but don't want anything heavier. Thoughts?

The gram savers are missing out on lots of opportunity:

Let me remind you before I start - if you complain that following any of
this advice constitutes a threat to comfort or safety or pleasure, you
won't sound like any ultralighter on these august pages...

  1. Shave your head. Lots of grams, maybe ounces, to be shed.
  2. Sandpaper your entire skin surface. I don't know how much dead skin
falls off, but it weighs something, right?
  3. Cut 1/2 inch off of the end of your whistle. Changes it from an
E-flat to a B-sharp, but who cares? Coupla grams.
  4. Trade out your neck lanyard for dental floss. 4 grams easy.
  5. NO electronics. No GPS, cell phones, SPOTs, or iPods. A pound!
  6. No cooking.
  7. Camp shoes? You wuss.
  8. Headlamp out. Superglue a Photon to your temple. 3 ounces saved.
  9. Don't need a watch. Teatime is when you feel like it.
  10. I'm kidding...you really shouldn't sandpaper your skin. Clip your
  fingernails, though. 1/5 gram.
