[pct-l] 2011 PCT Thru Hiker Permit

this is correct,

you only need the mt whitney permit if you exit the whitney portal  
(technically, to re - enter you need it ).   ie, to resupply at  (memory betrays 
me)... lone pine? independance?  i think lone pine.

if you go PCT to whitney summit and back to PCT you don't need it.

I know this was brought up recently, but I just wanted to be sure as I sign
up for my thru permit that I am correct in saying that I do not need a Mt.
Whitney permit if I plan to hike Mt. Whitney from the pct (guitar lake
area), entering from the west and returning without exiting the east side.
