Thanks for the info Dianne. That's what I needed. Sorry you are again an "office Slave".  I'm sure that's temporary - you have many adventurers in your future.

I think I asked the rangers when I picked up my permit and they told me I could park there. The lot is located around the corner from the McDonald's and there is a bus stop in front of it. There's nothing special about the lot. No gate, no guards. It's not very big. I don't know if you could keep a horse trailer there.

The lot is listed on the map linked on this page. http://www.yarts.com/service.html It's next to the stop in front of the Shilo Inn.

Perhaps the rangers could offer more info. Good luck and enjoy your trip. I wish I was an adventurer again instead of an office slave.

I am looking for a safe place to park my rig in Mammoth for about 10 days.  I will have last left my horse at Levitt Meadows west of Sonora Pass. I would then have driven the rig down to Mammoth and would take the Crest bus to Highway 108. Then I will hitch up to my horse - ride back up to the PCT, ride south to Agnew Meadows, leave my horse in a corral, and take the shuttle bus to Mammoth and the rig. Then drive down to pick up my horse.
