Great post Dave! Giving awards to PCT-L contributors is a great idea,
so maybe we shouldn't stop with the "Volume Olympics". We could expand
it to include a few other awards. Brick could put together a panel of
long-standing PCT-L legends to be judges each year. Here are a couple
of ideas for award categories:

"Best smart-ass remark"
"Best comeback post when the OP looked dead in the water"

"Fewest words, most meaning" (this would be good writing)
"Most words, least meaning" (this would not be good writing)

"Most beloved contributor"
"Contributor most likely to be attacked at kick-off"

"Poorest sentence structure and punctuation, if any"
"Most posts deleted without reading a word" (should be an exciting
race for this crown)
"Most irritating contributor" (yes, a person can win multiple awards)
