Sacramento. I saw it come up a couple of times as an incidental medical
finding through my work. I'd be cautious through the river canyons in
northern California given the lower elevations involved. I think whereever
you see poison oak, around the 3000' level or so depending on microclimates,
you should exercise caution.
Incidentally, Sawyer makes a couple Permethrin clothing treatment options,
which is the active ingredient in the insect repellant clothing by Ex
Officio. I'm sending some to Toulumne Meadows as the hatch from there to
Sonoro Pass is typically unbelieveable, though perhaps not in this high snow
year, but this of course works for ticks as well.
I question the touted duration of the treatment, but think it should do
through Oregon.
