[pct-l] hike start dates

Hey,
	My name is JJ and I'm planning on hiking the pct (I guess that kind of goes without saying seeing as Im posting to this discussion). I would like to do it next summer but the only way I could make it work would be to start in mid-May which seems a little late. If it is I'll have to wait another year or so and start earlier. 
	If anyone has any insight on whether or not this is too late a start date (south to north hike by the way) I'd love to hear from you
