Good afternoon!

Esbit tablets are fuels and contain oxidizers, and are not allowed on an
airplane, even in checked baggage. They can only be shipped by ground,
so check with your shipper for packaging and labeling requirements.

For weight, choosing between alcohol and Esbit won't make or break your
hike. I have both, and prefer the Esbit myself. Try doing some cooking
or boiling on each outside or on a day or overnight hike, and see which
you are more comfortable with - you will probably end up with a strong
preference.

Hiking with my brother, I use a JetBoil, weighty but when you want
boiling water fast, even in pretty rotten conditions, wow.
