Howdy Evenstar!

Rule #1 for digital cameras: Always take an extra memory card and battery! They add minimal weight, and are irreplaceable. There is nothing you can do with a full card or dead battery. This is crucially important when you have filled your card or run the battery down to nothing, and all of a sudden you see momma bear and 2 cubs playing in a field of flowers. (Of course, from a safe distance!) As a professional photographer, I NEVER leave home without more memory cards or batteries than I "think" I will need. You never know what you are going to run into. Shave 3 ounces of weight somewhere else!

Cheers!

Jim
