This just in, a discount for attending both. We, the ADZ, will miss you on Saturday if you chose to attend, but we'll try not to take it personally.

Thanks Greg, I’ll ask Andrew about the ALDHA-West. I attached another flyer that I mistakenly left out the last email. This one has both talks on one sheet as well as the discount for attending both.
Thanks
Todd

Todd,
Will do on this. Also, please ask Andrew if he wants to present this at ALDHA-West this year. More info on that gathering is at www.aldhawest.org
Best regards,

Greg,
Thanks for your patience with this! I am not on the PCT-List discussion, so thank you for offering to post for me. Attached are the two flyers for the events on Thursday April 21st and Saturday April 23rd.
Skurka told me that the Thursday night talk is for everyone! He suggested that we can invite anyone who enjoys adventure… even the more, uh, stationary, members of our community. Saturday is for the gear heads and those looking for ideas and education (of which you and many of the PCT crew already have a black belt!)
Please let me know if you have any issues getting the info posted or have any questions about the events. Please forward to the ADZ board as well if you think it’s okay. I suspect some local hikers who may be looking to tackle the PCT this year (snow and all J )could use the motivation and positive reinforcement. Andrew has put down a ton of snow miles, so he may be a good guy to get some Q&A with.
Thanks!

Todd, the ADZ board thinks it might add some confusion to the schedule, so how about sending this to the PCT-List discussion instead. If you're not on it, let me know and I can forward an email.

Okay Greg, Thanks and just let me know.
The event is definitely on, so just give me a heads up and I’ll get the final details to you.

Hi Greg,
I am a volunteer with the La Jolla YMCA, business owner, and lifelong backpacker. I have set up a two part program on Thursday evening April 21st and Saturday morning April 23rd to have Andrew Skurka come share his Yukon Alaska slideshow and stories on Thursday night in a 2 hour program, then return Saturday morning for a gear clinic to get people lightened up. Both events are at the La Jolla YMCA. The fee will be modest (probably $15 for non YMCA members) and will include both activities, if you desire, for one $15 ticket.
We have a few final details to iron out, but would this be of interest to your members? It’s very close to your kickoff event, so I thought of you and all this years thru-hikers and thought you may be interested in posting the details on your website.
Let me know and I will follow up when our flyer if finalized.
We will pay Andrew of course and any additional profits are used to fund the YMCA’s programs for kids and families who cannot otherwise afford the camps and after school programs.
Thanks for your time
Todd Hunt
