[pct-l] marmot precip problem

Wow, I've had completely different results. Mine wets out in 10-15
minutes in a light rain.
I washed and dried it as some people suggest to get rid of oils which
block the pores and
promote wetting. After applying a spray-on DWR I tried it again this
summer on the PCT.
Same problem - wets out in 15-20 minutes in a drizzle and sooner in a
heavy storm.
Although I sweat easily and a lot, the temperatures were low enough
that I wasn't
sweating that much. I've given up on the Precip.

I'm looking at buying a Mica although it is pretty expensive. I also
have used Driducks
and they seem to work okay. I didn't get much rain last year on the
PCT so I can't
say how well they do. I used the driducks mostly as a wind jacket last
year. I notice
the shoulders wear out quickly under backpack straps.

Cheers,
clint
