I recntly found this camelnack "flowmeter" online but have not used...

http://www.camelbak.com/sports-recreation/accessories/flowmeter.aspx

I was thinking this past weekend as I gulped away at my unseen water bladder
that knowing how much water was left would be such a nice thing! But right now
it is all about cutting weight for the thru hike next year, not adding so this
will probably not be a part of my gear. If anybody has used this flowmeter I
would love to hear how it worked for them (and how much it weighs!)

This is too good to pass up.

Pour half of it out.  Measure and multiply by 2.  Pour it back in.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Has anyone else come with a simple way to determine how much water you have left
in a platypus that is inside your pack?

I was thinking of sewing a hook onto the side of my pack and hang it in one of
the side net pockets with a bubble wrap foil insulation sleeve with a slot of
clear tape down one side to accomplish this. Any other ideas?
