But but...  one get's credit for "doing Everest", starting at basecamp, 
18k'...  MaunaLoa from sealevel to summit is more vertical feet than Everest 
from basecamp to summit, by a third (*)  ;-)  though 12pts and axe are a lot 
less useful on ML...

(*) though if one counts from Lukla to summit, E is 4k'+ more
