Reinhold:

There are a few places along the Sierra High Route cross-country
sections where you'll find an easily followed use trail, but those places
are rare.

The route still requires good routefinding skills as well as comfort with
scrambling on slabs, steep talus (ranging up to vehicle-sized boulders,
which make for tricky hopping), and a few class 3 pitches. Being a
68-year-old woman isn't a disqualifier, but if she's not a good scrambler,
the SHR isn't going to be fun.
