[pct-l] Will he be ready for a thruhike ?

If he really wants to do it, absolutely.

I went on 3 training hikes for a grand total of 40 miles before beginning my
thru-hike last spring. I suffered quite a bit more than I needed to
initially because of my lack of experience and training, but I completed it.

If I can do it with little to no experience, just about anyone can.
