[pct-l] Thoughts on Having a full-time trail angel

Having run a small business, I can say that the cost of permits (you'd have
to get one for each road crossing you plan to sell at) could be
prohibitive. Also, many of the areas may not be zoned for vending at all
(so no permits would exist to purchase).

But it could be done. If you picked about 10 good spots that were
"permit-able", and you arrived soon before the front of the "pack", and left
soon after (info at
http://www.hikethru.com/about-the-pct/pct-hiker-migration might be helpful
for planning that successfully), then it could be sustainable.... perhaps
even profitable.

Also, if you could post your schedule on the PCT-L and other easily
accessible places, you could offer a "bounce box" (or "mobile locker")
service.

If you parked a short walking distance from the trail (instead of right on
it at a road crossing) and left a sign at the crossing itself, then you
would avoid offending the hikers that don't want to see a huge RV/vendor at
the road crossings.

Neat idea. Would be a lot of fun!
