[pct-l] Old PCT route

Sad to say, when I reached Cascade Locks on my 1980 hike, I had to hitch-hike  around the area. 1980 was the year Mt. St. Helen's blew (we read it in the newspapers when we were south of Idlywild) and the PCT was closed from Cascade Locks to Snoqualmie.
 
Interesting that you reference Don and Roberta Lowe's guidebook being written in 1980. Likely, that is when it was published and they used research from the prior year.
 
And, yes, I still plan on one of these years, probably after I retire, hiking that section so I can legitimately claim my Washington patch.
