The WP Guidebooks are good for planning purposes, IMO. They have great information about things like certain navigational hazards and potentially dangerous parts of the trail. They also have interesting info. about things like history and geology that help put different parts of the trail into context. The PCT Atlas series contains most of the info. you're likely to need while actually out hiking. While something like a hybrid between the two could be interesting and useful, my concern is that it might be unnecessarily redundant at this point.
