I echo the sentiment that Trout Lake is a great place to resupply. The
store has rooms for $25 and they are most accommodating. Food was truly
awesome.

Subject: Re: [pct-l] Mailing drop boxes & Trout Lake WA
In Trout Lake, WA, I picked up a Priority box because the next day was
Sunday, but wasn't sure if I was going to forward it. With the Postal
Lady's
permission to put it back into the system if it was unopened, I left it at
the Trout Lake Store on Sunday and moved on; they returned it to the PO the
next time they went, and the box was forwarded. That may not work in a
larger town or city, to take possession and then put a box back in the
system.
BTW, Trout Lake is a great place to resupply, and the Trout Lake Store
people are superb. Traffic is light on Rd-23; just use a sign to get the
17 mi down to town. There are locals who'll take you back up, either Trout
Lake Store people or a couple of others (ask at the store). As Yogi sez,
donate heavily when you get help like that! Some will turn you down, but
always try to actually put the $ in their hand.
Also, don't go to Trout Lake if you don't like huckleberries: malts,
shakes, compote with cereal, pie, in bulk, etc, etc. You don't need all
that
high fat stuff anyhow.
