Good morning, all,

There was some discussion recently that solid fuel tablets are difficult to
ignite. I really haven’t had that problem on a hike, but one solution could
be common jell-type hand sanitizer which is mostly jellied alcohol. While
most solid-fuel cooks don’t additionally carry alcohol, most of us do carry
hand sanitizer. A bit of that on solid fuel of any kind – including wood
kindling – will burn nicely and won’t flash-off as quickly as liquid
alcohol.
