So beautifully stated Diane. I don't have as many years on the trail as you but Jeff's guide books were what "I grew up" on. I bought the CA 5th edition in 1997 when I first started my love affair with the PCT and the 2003 editions when they came out. I too, as At A Bat stated, ordered three of the books (one the 1995 edition) and will put them aside and have them just to treasure. The end of an era.
