[pct-l] Hiking from Stehekin to Manning Park

Greetings everyone

I am trying to get some information from those of you who
have hiked from Stehekin to HWY#20 at Rainy Pass or on
to Manning Park prior to the 2003 flood that washed out the
Upper Stehekin Valley road.

What I wish to determine is what percentage of you elected
to Hike along the scenic Stehekin River on the then existing
one-lane road as opposed to hiking in 'deep woods' on the
historic road-bed known locally as the "Old Wagon Road"
(shown on maps as the PCT route.)

with your comments and additional opinions on the possibility
of rerouting the PCT from its present location along the "Old
Wagon Road" to a new section of PCT directly along the
Stehekin River on the now abandoned Upper Stehekin Valley
road-bed.
