312.1 Deep Creek Ford.  Check water depth prior to crossing Deep Creek.   A safer crossing could be found about 1200 feet West along the creek.  Directions are from where the PCT crosses Deep Creek.  From this point follow road half way up on dam . The general heading is West or parallel to the creek.  Stay relatively close to the creek and don't hike to the top of the dam.  Walk over Deep Creek as it flows under the dam then carefully hike down along a steep makeshift trail.  Cross the shallow creek, about a foot or less in depth and find the PCT on other side of the creek. 5/7
