Adam,
The thing that a lot of people are going to point out here is that Thruhiking the PCT is a hiking trip. Not a hunting trip, not a fishing trip and not a camping trip. To actually hike the entire trail in one summer means to dedicate your days to hiking, realistically you will not find time to do much else.
I LOVE to fly fish and wouldn't bother with a rod anywhere on the trail no matter how good the fishing is because it just eats up too much time. On the other hand, I certainly do keep an eye out for places to come back to for flypacking trips. You could do the same for hunting I suppose.

Has anyone hunted on the PCT? I have a 2.5 lbs .22 rifle its small and
compact. Probably 3 lbs with ammo. Does anyone think it's worth it?
