In addition to Greg's list, I have:

Chuck Long, "Pacific Crest Trail Hike Planning Guide" 1976
USFS, "Journey: Being An Historical Adventure Through the Lands of the PCT"
1975
Clinton C. Clarke, "Natural History of the Pacific Crest Trail System" c.
1936
Warren L. Rogers, "The PCT Relays: First Exploration of the PCT from Mexico
to Canada 1933-1934-1935-1936" published in 1968

Various bulletins of the Pacific Crest Trail System Conference, including:
12. The Pacific Crest Trailway 1940
13. The Mountain Wildernesses of the Pacific Crest Trailway 1941
14. Log of Daily Itinerary for Backpacking Exploration over the Pacific
Crest Trailway 1941
16. Guide Pacific Crest Trailway through The High Sierra Nevada of
California 1943
17. Guide The Wilderness Trails of The Pacific Crest Trailway The Sierra
Nevada Region 1944
18. Explorers Maps - The Yosemite, Kings, Sequoia, and P.C.T. Wilderness
trails c. 1944

A hand-typed cover calling itself Bulletin No. 20 The Pacific Crest Trailway
The Sierra Nevada encasing bulletins 16, 17, and 18 (curious as bulletin 20
is the 12 drawings in the front pocket of the 1945 book)

I also have a PCT planning guide from around 1986 I can't find right now. It
consists of photocopies of typed 8.5x11 pages in a 3-ring binder about 2+
inches thick.

and how could Greg leave out our new-found friend's "The High Adventure of
Eric Ryback"
not to mention various maps.

Sadly missing from the above are Bulletins 1 through 10, which would include
the Explorers Project (hiking programs, awards, and medals) and 3 map
folders with "detail" maps (suspecting these are no more detailed than those
in the 1945 book).

Most missed the 1935 guidebook. Many of us have talked about that book, not
sure what it is or if perhaps only a few copies were privately published for
use by the YMCA relay teams. Or is perhaps the 1936 Natural History book the
oldest "guide book"?

(Don't tell Deems ;-), but I actually have TWO copies of both the 1936
Natural History book and the 1945 guidebook, although one of the latter is
in poor but usable condition.)
