Yet another subject of potentially passionate debate, but FWIW, I think that
rodent attacks on food are a lot less common than along the AT --- can still
happen, but "sleeping with your food" generally works fine for most places.
I did that prior to the Sierras as there aren't a lot of rodents (or
bears).  North of the Sierras I used an Ursack, in part because that's just
sort of my normal approach (I live in WA state).
