Ah yes, and the memories flood back in about the delight of the SoCal water supplies.

Rain slowed my pace on Saturday to only 2.2 mph. I hiked 26 miles from Barrel Springs to Chihuahua Valley Rd in intermittent rain on Saturday. Even had a 3 hour stretch fog-hiking after dark. However, we bailed on Sunday's 25 mile plan due to increased foul weather. Long story short, I didn't make it to Paradise - although, they were open from 8-7 on Sat and 8-3 on Sun.
By the way, I pulled 3 dead mice out of the Barrel Spring source (at the top of the hill) this morning (2/21/10). However, due to the thick roots that are growing in the source, I couldn't get the large earthworm-looking things that were feeding on the little carcasses. (I posted this tidbit earlier this morning but haven't seen the post yet)

They were open last Saturday. I'd be interested in your opinion if you get the opportunity to eat there. I think the burgers being served nowadays are not measuring up to their burgers of several years ago. I stopped for lunch twice in the last three months, and I don't think I'll take the time to do so again.
Maybe it's 'cause I'm driving by, and don't have the hiker hunger <g>
