[pct-l] High Fat Food and thru hiking

I imagine that I'm missing something here. It seams that hikers are 
concerned about what they eat, and that is very good, but is the talk about 
fats, hydrogenated oils/fats, etc. taken in the context of a metabolism 
churning along sun-up to sun-down accomplishing an extremely rigorous 
activity?

If I remember correctly, most hikers loose weight on their hikes because 
they are burning tons of calories. Is the ingestion of fats in this context 
something to be concerned about?
