Hey! I just got picked for the Oregon Health Plan. Not a great package, but surely better than nothing! I don't know if I'll be covered in CA and WA, but I'm happy I'm at least sort of covered :-) (just in case)

Hi all,

A question about insurance....

Does anyone have insurance for the hike?  Health and acciident?

I've been watching  "I shouldnt be alive" on tv, and find that although the stories are good, they seem really thinking that others should take care of them.   In the US we dont have universal health care (I wish we did), so what are we (the PCT hikers) doing to deal with this.

One of the reasons I purchased a SPOT was for the accident protection SAR insurance.

What are your thouths?

Again I'd love to here how you got your trail names....  could you reply to both?

Thanks,
