If you are *not* using chemical treatment on a regular basis it is
important to spend some time in town thoroughly cleaning your water
systems (i.e. soap and water).  Adding filtered water to a
contaminated water bladder or bottle isn't helpful.

If you are using chemicals, be sure to swish the treated water
around with a loose cap so that the treated water gets in the threads
of the bottle/bladder top.
