Public Is Invited To Assist In Assessing Recreational Trails

"The public is invited today to help state officials assess recreational
trails.

"The California Recreational Trails Committee will take comment on progress
toward the goals of the 2002 California Recreational Trails Plan.  These
include funding, private property issues, accessibility and leadership.

"Progress on improving certain trail systems, including (the) Pacific Crest
Trail National Recreational Trail and California Coastal Trail, also will be
discussed.

"A program report will be submitted to the legislature.

"Also on the agenda is an environmental study on policies for changes of use
on trails, such as chaging a trail from single use to multiple use"

"Today's 10 a.m. meeting will be held at five locations via telecast.  The
public can attend in Northern California at the Natural Resources Building
1416 Ninth St., Room 900, Sacramento; or at Mount Diablo State Park, Summer
