I stayed in the Redding Travelodge a few weeks ago and it was OK. A
bit inconveniently located if you happen to arrive on the 2 AM train
and have no transportation and the complementary breakfast required a
drive down the freeway to a restaurant, which didn't work for us
without a car. They did have free computer and printer access and
Redding has bus service during the day. I think it was 105 degrees the
day I was there.
Have you considered meeting in a town closer to the trail like
Chester, Dunsmuir, Mt Shasta, Etna, Ashland?
