[pct-l] Closed areas and shelter choice

1)  Remind me where I can learn which sections of the PCT south of Kennedy
Meadows are currently closed? Can someone fill me in so I don't embark on a
section hike that turns into a road walk?

2)  What is the preferred shelter used by most PCT hikers?  I am trying to
overcome my claustrophobia and plan on using a small bivy sack to save 2 lbs
over my Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight tent.  Advice?
