[pct-l] Peek Charger

Patience Kea, I saw your first post this morning at work but my charger and
scale were at home.

I'm still too laid back from 5 months on the trail - although my computer
almost ticked me off today.

As I said earlier 2.2 oz. Unfortunately most places are terrible about
giving weighs of items - even places that make gear for hikers.

I had a lot of reservations on the battery life of the peek before the trip
cause I couldn't find a straight answer on how long in hours/minutes will it
last. Instead I'd get answers like 4 days in typical use. But what does
that mean - what is typical? If worried a spare battery weighs very little
- I would weigh it but I no longer have mine as I accidentally smashed it a
short while ago and tossed it out. But like I said I wouldn't even bother
carrying it again as I could recharge enough in towns that I never really
had an issue. Although if your goal is to stay away from towns as much as
possible a spare battery would solve any issue. It is also very easy to
change on the peek.

I have looked at carrying chargers (solar/battery/etc) but it always works
out that just having a back up battery is lighter and cheaper. I do carry a
spare battery for my camera as it just sucks down that power and I have it
die before I can get to town. I carry the charger for my camera too It
weighs about the same as the peek charger.
