[pct-l] station fire

I will further the speculation by anticipating a PCT closure from Three
Points to Soledad Canyon, since these are the two road crossings closest
to the fire line. 41 miles is a lot of trail to clean up, so it could
take a long time. Fortunately the forest has Adventure Pass money to
use, which hopefully helps fund the repair work. Besides the down
trees, there will be a lot of erosion in years to come. When the PCTA
volunteer crews are finally allowed back in there will be some major
work to do. And the loss of shade on this portion is a real blow, since
it can be quite hot during the thru hike season. We hiked 85 miles of
section D one year during spring break (last week of March) and
experienced 100 degree temps from North Fork Ranger Station to Soledad
Canyon.
