I found this on their website:
Los Padres National Forest officials today announced that the area burned by the Zaca Fire, closed to public entry since the fire began in July 2007, will be reopened at noon, April 4. "The trail system has sustained extensive damage and the public is urged to use extreme caution when traveling in the affected area," said Forest Supervisor Peggy Hernandez.
So they had that area closed for almost 2 years. I wonder if the class of 2010 (or even 2011) will need a detour between 3 Points and Agua Dulce?

I don't know about the Los Padres closure, but I do recall the Butler
Fire closure. It was in Section C affecting about 14 miles of trail near
Crab Flats. We were involved in trail work in section C, and were told
by the Forest Supervisor that the affected PCT segment would be closed
for two years. However, the forest crew got the work done quickly and
it was closed for only a few months. Anyone who has hiked through the
Butler Fire area (we did this year) has seen the astounding number of
burnt trees that were felled along the PCT to make it safe for use.
That closure affected one class of thru hikers.
