[pct-l] JMT in October

Thank you, Josh & Bob, for such thorough replies.  Pouring over maps,  
contemplating resupply and weather, I may just do a yo-yo hike on the  
High Sierra Trail to Whitney.  If the weather is too harsh, I can  
easily forego the Whitney climb and bail out at Whitney Portal.  This  
shorter trip in the Sierras would then leave me time to head down to  
Death Valley for another hike.
