#11. defending against attack grouse.

A grouse hen came rushing out of the bush at me to defend her brood. 
Startled, I jumped backwards, tripped and fell.  To her astonishment, she 
had taken down a human!  She lowered he head, pointed her beak and went in 
for the kill. I gently bopped her on the head with my hiking pole, at which 
she decided to retreat and I narrowly escaped death-by-grouse.
