So I take it the cute little mice aren't in the cache anymore.

Isn't there trailhead parking at Inspiration Point? I had originally  
planned last year to hike the Acorn trail but when I saw all that  
hard-won elevation loss I decided Inspiration Point a better place to  
go to get to Wrightwood.
