[pct-l] Campo to Manning on foot: 19 days (!)

Hello from a longtime list lurker.

Having a few weeks to kill before getting back on the trail at Walker 
Pass leads to some silly business. To wit:

Go to www.google.com
Choose: "maps"
Choose: "get directions"
Enter: From: "Campo, CA" to "Manning Park, British Columbia"
Be sure and specify in the pulldown "WALKING" (as opposed to driving)

The resulting route -- and speed -- will amuse you mightily. One 
pictures the roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote tearing through the desert 
like a couple of thru-hikers living on massive quantities of crank 
and Red Bull.

Tattoo Joe? Eric D.? Scott? Are you guys hipped to this?

The map itself is a worthy conversation piece for a campfire session.

Either someone at the Googleplex has a very dry sense of humor. Or, 
more likely, the Googlers are painfully human.
