Our intrepid senior PCT hero, Old Gramps, is doing a flip-flop.? He comes out at Cottonwood Pass and gets a ride down to Lone Pine.? He resupplies and then catches the Eastern Sierra Shuttle Bus up to?Lake Tahoe.

While the?bus driver is?motoring up?395 highway, he is?tapped on his shoulder by?Old Gramps.

Never to be one to waste food, like all good hikers, he offers the driver a handful of peanuts.? The driver thanks him and munches them as he drives?along.

After about 20 minutes, Old Gramps?taps the driver?on his shoulder again?hands him another handful of peanuts.

He repeats this gesture about five more times as the journey up 395.

When he is about to hand him another batch of peanuts again, the driver asks?Old Gramps,
"Why don't you eat the peanuts yourself?"

"I can't chew them because I have no teeth at my age.", replies Old Gramps.

Puzzled driver asks, "Why do you buy them them?? There are lots of other snacks you could get."

Old Gramps?replies, "I really like the chocolate around them."
