I'm planning on section hiking from I-15 to Whitney and then skipping ahead to Echo Lake. Will there be issues getting to Whitney Portal in Mid June (i.e snow road closures, etc..)? As I've already hiked Whiteny, I'm just trying to meet up with the PCT/JMT trail? Is Whiteny Portal the easiest hitch out?
