Hi gang,
The good news.....trouble is back in town.....just got back from another
week of skiing in the Sierra.
The bad news.......there are tons of snow in the Sierra.
Of course that is good news for ''ski bums'' like me but bad news for
''hiker trash'' like you.
Perhaps a light weight hiker snow shovel would be advisable for the
first wave of ''Through's'' reaching the Sierra so if they can't hike
through it, they can shovel through it and make it easier for the slower
and Sr. Citizen hikers like Switchback and me to follow in their wake.
I think it its only fair that the stronger faster hikers give back to
the trail and show their gratitude by shoveling the snow for those who
have paved their way many years ago.
Snow shoveling hikers are not that uncommon.
When I climbed Mt. Shasta 10-15 years ago everybody had a snow shovel
for the purpose of digging in, because tents not pitched in a dug-out
were prone to blow away....some say even with hikers in it.
It would, however, take a major hurricane to blow a tent away with
Switchback in it.
