Just saw this report elsewhere on line, hope it helps...

"Hey fellow thru-hikers!

We've just come through to Mammoth Lakes... here's a mini-update for
those who are interested...

June 3 Dan & Anna (DnA), Jean Micheal from France, Andy from the UK &
Adam from Oklahoma headed over Kearsage towards Independence in heavy
snowfall. We saw Nick Brown (Indi), Ron (Burning Daylight), and
Vincent heading back into the mountains. The next day they returned to
Lone Pine since beyond Glen Pass was a complete white-out. On June 6th
DnA, JM, Andy, Adam & Indi headed back into the mountains. We arrived
at VVR on June 12th.

Every day we've had precipitation - rain, snow, hail. We've also had 1
thunderstorm. You def would want waterproof gear & warm gear if you're
going up there. Almost every night weather has been below freezing &
moments of sunshine have been brief, but we haven't experienced any
days of precipitation ALL day long. Around most of the passes there
was fairly solid snow w/no footprints or cut steps... not sure if ours
are still visible under the fresh snow. But with map & compass we were
able to navigate. Some bad postholing in sections...

Also have seen Pi, Crop Duster, Jim (really tall), and Ice Cap (Swiss
guy) who all made it past VVR are were fine. Heard that Boon & Mousa &
Lenny & Stinky Butt also made it to VVR fine.

Hope that helps,

DnA
Dan & Anna"
