Per all the posts from those critical of speed hikers and how they should
slow down...........

Why should YOU care what other hikers do as to THEIR speed on any trail.
Their daily miles and lack of hanging out in trail towns and partying here
and there is their choice...not yours. HYOH. Do your thing. They are doing
theirs. I don't see where they are bothering you or imposing on your life.
If they are into the "self challenging" thing why should you care. With the
number of miles they average each day.....somehow they still have time to
stop and hug most of the trail angels out here. The main differences between
the "speed" hikers and the "normal" hikers are not hanging around at party
spots, not woosing out and waiting for the snow to melt or the rain to stop.
They are out to set a personal record. They are hiking THEIR own hike. Maybe
you should to. Last year when Joe and Scott came through the Steven's Pass
area....they both had time to hang out, eat and bunch of hamburgers, drink
pop and had their cake and eat it too.
