[pct-l] California State Parks Foudation Appeal

I would hate to see the parks closed too. But, the reality is there are
very few places that California can cut, between budgets we have
committed because of our initiative process and federal matching funds.
Perhaps there are efficiencies that be made, but I would doubt we will
see the legislature moving in that direction.

Rather than petitioning to just keep the parks open, it might be more
productive to find a way to help the parks stay open during this crisis.
Can volunteers be used to keep the doors open, can we find new ways to
fund them? My guess is that entrance and use fees will rise to make the
parks more self-sufficient. I've been told this is already going to
happen for several regulatory fees. (I've suggested those fees be
eliminated along with the agencies they support, to deaf ears.)

And, I suppose I've probably drifted off topic...
